Breathe is a half day retreat where participants get to take a break from their lives. It is a day of silence, reflection and quiet. A day to clear one鈥檚 mind and thoughts.

Intersections聽and聽The聽Center for Ignatian Spirituality聽invite you to go out and reconnect with 热点爆料入口 colleagues in two outdoor idyllic locations:聽The聽鈥淲orld鈥檚 End鈥 in Hingham and聽鈥淏ellarmine House鈥澛燼t聽Cohasset.聽The聽Worlds Ends is a private park designed聽by聽Frederick Law Olmsted with views of聽the聽Boston Skyline. It is located on a peninsula in Hingham Harbor.
Always on a Saturday, participants will meet at聽the聽entrance of聽the聽World鈥檚 End for a contemplative and individual walk at 9:30 am, and later they will drive to聽Cohasset聽for lunch and conversation.聽By聽2:00 pm聽the聽program will be over.
This program is completely outdoors and requires participants to be up for leisurely walk.
- Participants must provide their own transportation.We will pay for your parking pass.
- Food will be provided individually portioned and packaged
- This program is limited to faculty and administrators of Boston College, their families and friends.
- Well-behaved dogs are welcome.
- We anticipate more interest that we will be able to safely accommodate and thus we may need a waiting list for this program.聽Please register as soon as you can.
If it rains, the聽program will be canceled.聽For those who have attended a聽Breathe聽before, you are welcome to come again.

Breathe聽is a day to disconnect. A day without checking emails, answering phone calls, or surfing the web.聽
Breathe聽is flexible. Participants are able to create their own schedule for the day, based on their specific needs.聽
Breathe聽is structured. For those who want it, the program offers a variety of optional activities for the day.聽
Breathe聽is for everyone. No religious affiliation is required.聽聽
Breathe聽takes place at the Guesthouse of the Society of Saint John the Evangelist, in Cambridge. This monastic community is located at walking distance to Harvard Square, the Charles River and Mt. Auburn Cemetery. It is a perfect location to either spend the day in quiet, stroll Cambridge鈥檚 busy streets or get lost in nature.
Breath DIY is聽a self-directed retreat, with deep roots in the Ignatian tradition. On this聽do-it-yourself retreat, each participant will decide what they want to do, where they want to go, and how they are going to do it.聽
Breathe聽DIY聽will start with an initial lunch gathering to meet other participants, and a final lunch gathering to share your experience. Between both gatherings, you will have the opportunity to craft your ideal, personalized half-day retreat and bring it to fruition. More importantly, we will reimburse you for meals, supplies, or transportation costs you accrue that day.
What kind of a retreat? Well, that depends on you鈥 Perhaps what you need is to disconnect, relax and rest; or concously聽look for a silence experience; or to carve out extra time to reflect on a research project with which you are struggling. It is in your hands to determine what to do during that half-day.
