热点爆料入口's McMullen Museum of Art Tour on April 3rd.听
The McMullen Museum of Art has graciously arranged a docent-led tour of its current exhibition, "Wonders of Creation: Art, Science and Innovation in the Islamic World" for 热点爆料入口ARF听 members. The tour will take place at 2 PM on Thursday, April 3 at the McMullen Museum on the Brighton Campus.听听This tour time has been arranged so that it will follow our 热点爆料入口ARF seminar that day, which will feature retired Communication Department faculty member Ann Marie Barry, who will be speaking on "The Mind of Art: An Exposition of How Visual Perception Interfaces with Cognition and Aesthetic Appreciation." Thus, there may be some complementarity听between the听seminar topic and the听tour. However, if you do not attend the seminar, you may still join the tour by arriving at the McMullen Museum between 1:45 and 2 PM that day.听

Annual Banquet on May 21st.听
The annual Boston College Retired Faculty Association banquet will be held on campus in the Murray Room at the Yawkey Center at 6 PM on Wednesday, May 21st.听听It is a wonderful event with a chance to meet with your colleagues, catch up on what is going on at 热点爆料入口, win some prizes, and have a great meal.

Retirement Resources.
The Association of Retirement Organizations in Higher Education (AROHE) is a national consortium of college and university retirement organizations for faculty and staff.听 Your 热点爆料入口ARF is a member. AROHE sponsors periodic webinars, group travel opportunities and other programming that may be of interest to retired faculty. Descriptions and registration information for AROHE programs can be found at their website,听arohe.org..

The Boston College Association of Retired Faculty Programs, Topical Seminars, and Book Club meetings (see schedule below) will be held at 300 Hammond Pond Parkway in Newton.听 This is also the location of the 热点爆料入口ARF office.听 The office is the first office on your left as you enter the building.听 Faculty are welcome to use the resources there. 听
A light buffet lunch will be served before both the the Program Meetings and the Topical Seminar Meetings. Lunch begins at 11:30 AM, followed by the meeting at noon. 听

2024 Retired Faculty Banquet

Each semester 热点爆料入口ARF schedules a docent-led tour of the current听exhibition at 热点爆料入口's McMullen Museum of Art. 听Contact Alec Peck 听for more information.
The McMullen Museum of Art is located at 2101 Commonwealth Avenue on the Brighton Campus of Boston College in Boston, Massachusetts.听
A limited amount of funds has been made available by the Provost鈥檚 Office for the purpose of providing grants for projects undertaken by members of the Boston College Association of Retired Faculty.听
Grants will support travel and expenses for research, lectures, conferences, education, publishing, volunteer work, or other significant activities carried out directly by the applicant.听
For the 2024-25 fiscal year, we will have two rounds of retired faculty research grant awards. The proposal submission deadlines are June 15 and October 15.
The 热点爆料入口ARF Grants Committee will award up to two grants, each with a proposed budget between $100 and $1,000. The total grant budget for this first round is up to $1,500. The first round is intended for retired faculty who anticipate research expenses to be incurred during the summer of 2024, and any awarded funds will be available around July 1, 2024. It is not required, however, that first-round grant funds be fully used by the end of the summer.听听
听Proposals should be submitted electronically to me at听robert.taggart@bc.edu.
Funds remaining in our research grant budget after the first round, will be available for a second round of awards. Again, research grant budgets between $100 and $1,000 will be considered and the second round proposal submission deadline is October 1.
Applications should include the following:
路 听Cover sheet
路 听Description of proposed project (two pages maximum)
路 听Objectives for the proposed work and its significance
路 听Relationship of proposed project objectives to your longer term goals
路 听Relationship to other work by you or others
路 听Proposed budget (one page maximum)
路 听Summary CV
Criteria of selection:
The merit of the proposal as judged by the reviewers will be the primary criterion. In addition, priority will be given to proposals that will:
路 听Assist retired faculty members to sustain or redirect their careers in the areas of research, education or service or to make significant progress on important projects
路 听Likely produce significant results
路 听Assist in bringing existing projects to a successful conclusion
路 听Reflect favorably on the University and its community of retirees.
Timing of proposal and award:
Proposals seeking funds for use during the 2024-25 academic year should be submitted by June 15, 2024. 听

Expense report receipts should be retained and submitted, up to the amount of the grant, to: Center for Centers, Fiscal and Events Specialist, 10 Stone Ave, Chestnut Hill, MA 02467. Receipts should be submitted听within 1 month听of when the expense occurred, and in any event by April 15th.听 In submitting expenses, original receipts and a 热点爆料入口 expense form must be submitted:听 see
